The World of Studio Ghibli
Studio Ghibli films are well known for their breathtaking landscapes. The scenery in these films provides a calm, peaceful backdrop that lets the drama and emotion of the Studio’s stories shine through. Because our world is in political and cultural turmoil, I wanted to create a video that honored the beauty and tranquility of the different lands of Studio Ghibli. When I removed the landscapes from their contexts and edited them together with “One Summer’s Day” from Spirited Away, I transformed these many little scenes into a cohesive experience that captures the life and harmony of the art of Studio Ghibli.
Before working on this project, I had never used Adobe Premiere Pro or any video editing software more complex than an ancient version of iMovie. After completing my video, I now have more confidence when using the program and understand the basics of video editing. I especially had to fiddle with the transition effects, so the clips would blend smoothly without any unwanted extra scenes popping up.
